Welcome! Azrael’s Stop is an experimental fiction and music project, about life, death, and friendship. It is the story of a mystical tavern called Azrael’s Stop, where rumour says people are led when they’re ready to die. The narrative centres around the bartender, seventeen-year-old Ceph, a boy who has seen his loved ones die around him throughout his life.
The story is told here on this website in daily pieces of microfiction: every day, a new piece is added to the story, which unfolds over the course of a year. Every month, we also post a longer piece of fiction. In addition, each of these longer pieces is paired with a song from our soundtrack, and the experience is best with story and music together.
The best way to enjoy the story is to catch up on the homepage, then subscribe for further updates by email or social media; this way, each new piece of content will be delivered right to you! Subscribe here.
If you don’t want to wait for the story to be posted, you can instead purchase the entire thing right now as an ebook! You can also purchase the accompanying soundtrack. Both are available at our store, here. (The ebook and album are also available at other online locations — check out a full list, here.)
